Submitted Mar 06, 2009 (Edited Mar 06, 2009) to Scientific Data IndOOS, the Indian Ocean Observing System, is an integrated basin-scale observing system that combines data from moorings, Argo floats, XBT lines, drifters, tide gauges, satellite data and more. The system is designed to help provide an early warning system for tsunamis, cyclones, and other large scale oceanic or weather events.

Submitted Dec 25, 2008 to Scientific Data Bisque (Bio-Image Semantic Query User Environment) was developed for the exchange and exploration of biological images. The Bisque system supports several areas useful for imaging researchers from image capture to image analsysis and querying. The bisque system is centered around a database of images and metadata. Search and comparison of datasets by image data and content is supported. Novel semantic analyses are integrated into the system allowing high level semantic queries and comparison of image content.

Submitted Dec 20, 2008 to Scientific Data The California Independent System Operator (ISO) Open Access Same-Time Information System (OASIS) web site contains real-time, publicly available information about California's electric grid, including system load and transmission data, forecasts, congestion market bids, transmission outage reports, and more.
|
Submitted Dec 20, 2008 to Scientific Data The Renewable Resource Data Center (RReDC) provides access to an extensive collection of renewable energy resource data, maps, and tools. Biomass, geothermal, solar, and wind resource data for locations throughout the United States can be found through the RReDC.
|
Submitted Dec 19, 2008 to Scientific Data The Solar Radiation Data Manual for Flat-Plate and Concentrating Collectors is available on the RReDC in HTML and PDF format. Individual PDF files are available for the main body of the manual and for each of the 50 states, the Pacific Islands (Guam) and Puerto Rico. Compressed files containing the individual PDFS for the manual and the site data tables can be downloaded in three compression formats: PC, Macintosh and Unix. Maps derived of the data represented in the tables are also available for viewing.

Submitted Aug 19, 2008 (Edited Jan 01, 2017) to Scientific Data Heat flow data for the United States is available here, based on regional and background well temperature gradient and conductivity measurements. Wells that are spaced close together are averaged, while well within geothermally anomalous ares are not used in the regional analysis. The database includes BHT, heat flow, temperature gradient, thermal conductivity, heat productions, porosity, lithology, and water table depth, among others. Downloadable maps of the data are also available.
|
Submitted Aug 19, 2008 to Scientific Data Global heat flow data from the database of the International Heat Flow Commission (IHFC) is available on this website in Excel or ASCII format. New data points are added regularly. This site is hosted by the University of North Dakota.

Submitted Aug 05, 2007 to Scientific Data Ensembl is a joint project between EMBL - European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (WTSI) to develop a software system which produces and maintains automatic annotation on selected eukaryotic genomes. Ensembl is primarily funded by the Wellcome Trust. The Ensembl project aims to provide: Accurate, automatic analysis of genome data; Analysis and annotation maintained on the current data; Presentation of the analysis to all via the web; Distribution of the analysis to other bioinformatics laboratories. Ensembl will concentrate on vertebrate genomes, but other groups have adapted the system for use with plant and fungal genomes. Please see Powered by Ensembl for a list of projects that use Ensembl technology.

Submitted Apr 23, 2007 to Scientific Data The DrugBank database is a unique bioinformatics and cheminformatics resource that combines detailed drug (i.e. chemical, pharmacological and pharmaceutical) data with comprehensive drug target (i.e. sequence, structure, and pathway) information. The database contains nearly 4300 drug entries including >1,000 FDA-approved small molecule drugs, 113 FDA-approved biotech (protein/peptide) drugs, 62 nutraceuticals and >3,000 experimental drugs. Additionally, more than 6,000 protein (i.e. drug target) sequences are linked to these drug entries. Each DrugCard entry contains more than 80 data fields with half of the information being devoted to drug/chemical data and the other half devoted to drug target or protein data.
