These data are available free of charge to the public and can be accessed through browser-based interfaces.

Submitted Dec 16, 2016 to Scientific Data The GISS Surface Temperature Analysis (GISTEMP) is an estimate of global surface temperature change. Graphs and tables are updated around the middle of every month using current data files from NOAA GHCN v3 (meteorological stations), ERSST v4 (ocean areas), and SCAR (Antarctic stations), combined as described in our December 2010 publication (Hansen et al. 2010). These updated files incorporate reports for the previous month and also late reports and corrections for earlier months.

Submitted Dec 10, 2016 to Scientific Data Climate Data Online (CDO) provides free access to NCDC's archive of global historical weather and climate data in addition to station history information. These data include quality controlled daily, monthly, seasonal, and yearly measurements of temperature, precipitation, wind, and degree days as well as radar data and 30-year Climate Normals. Customers can also order most of these data as certified hard copies for legal use.

Submitted Dec 09, 2016 to Scientific Data The 2015 Medicare drug spending data files present drug spending and utilization information on Medicare Part B drugs (drugs administered in doctors’ offices and other outpatient settings) and Medicare Part D drugs (drugs patients generally administer themselves). These data files are the basis for the 2015 Medicare Drug Spending Dashboard and include annual data for 2011 to 2015.

Submitted Dec 07, 2016 to Scientific Data The High Energy Astrophysics Science Archive Research Center (HEASARC) is the primary archive for NASA's (and other space agencies') missions studying electromagnetic radiation from extremely energetic cosmic phenomena ranging from black holes to the Big Bang. Since its merger with the Legacy Archive for Microwave Background Data Analysis (LAMBDA) in 2008, the HEASARC archive contains data obtained by high-energy astronomy missions observing in the extreme-ultraviolet (EUV), X-ray, and gamma-ray bands, as well as data from space missions, balloons, and ground-based facilities that have studied the relic cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation in the sub-mm, mm and cm bands.

Its cloud archive is supported by USC’s Center for High-Performance Computing, the sixth-fastest academic supercomputer in the United States, according to Sam Gustman, executive director of the USC Digital Repository and associate dean of USC Libraries.
With its facilities fully capable of digitization, restoration, preservation, storage and digital asset management including cataloguing and searchability, the repository is the first of its kind in the country to open its services to commercial and educational users, providing the expertise and resources to allow users to manage complex collections of not just books, but film, TV, video tape and digital assets. Submitted Dec 07, 2016 to Scientific Data Numerous publishers collect information each year for their college guide and ranking publications through lengthy campus questionnaires. To reduce the amount of time and effort required to respond to duplicate questions on multiple surveys, publishers and the education community collaborated to produce a standard format (the Common Data Set) to capture most of the requested data. The publishers heading this effort are The College Board, Thomson-Peterson's, and U.S. News and World Report.

Submitted Dec 05, 2016 to Scientific Data The main goals of Eddy Watch are to observe the position and strength of the Loop Current, detect the separation of anticyclonic (warm core) eddies from the Loop, identify and monitor these eddies as they migrate across the northern Gulf of Mexico, and predict the likelihood that an eddy will encounter a particular site within a user-specified time. Reports are issued weekly with daily updates during times of strong current events.
