Submitted Jan 15, 2017 to Science Books Game theory can be of considerable use to evolutionary biologists, especially behaviorists. Originally developed as a tool to predict rational human economic behavior, it has been successfully applied to many evolutionary problems. Game theory is useful in understanding situations where the fitness consequences of an individual's behavior depends in part on the types and frequencies of behaviors exhibited by other animals in the population. This site provides an introduction to evolutionary game theory. It is aimed primarily at undergraduates with a serious interest in animal behavior and evolution. I have tried to make the material accessible to any student with a good facility in algebra. Portions of the site dealing with the "war of attrition" do contain some calculus but I have taken care to explain the calculations in detail for students who have not yet studied calculus. By John Maynard Smith.

Submitted Dec 25, 2016 to Science Blogs The Molecular Ecologist is a website for people interested in the applications of population genetic data in studies of evolution, ecology, and diversity. Our contributors are mostly scientists working in the fields of ecology, evolutionary biology, and behavior, and we often write about the technical details of research in our fields — but we hope that much of what we cover here is also interesting to members of the general public.

Submitted Jun 27, 2010 to Science Research Groups » Biology The Josephine Bay Paul Center for Comparative Molecular Biology and Evolution was officially established at the Marine Biological Laboratory in January of 1997. RESEARCH at the Center explores the evolution and interaction of genomes of diverse organisms that play significant roles in environmental biology and human health. Projects span all evolutionary time scales, from deep phylogenetic divergence of ancestral prokaryotic and eukaryotic lineages to ecological analyses of how members of diverse communities contribute and respond to environmental change. The Center is part of the Brown University - Marine Biological Laboratory Graduate Program in Biological and Environmental Sciences.

Submitted Dec 01, 2005 to Science Courses and Tutorials Understanding Evolution is a non-commercial, education website, teaching the science and history of evolutionary biology. This site is here to help you understand what evolution is, how it works, how it factors into your life, how research in evolutionary biology is performed, and how ideas in this area have changed over time. What is evolution and how does it work? How does evolution impact my life? What is the evidence for evolution? What is the history of evolutionary theory?
