Yale University Department of Statistics invites applications for a faculty position of open rank (Full Professor with tenure, Associate Professor on term, or Assistant Professor on term), beginning July 2006. Academic rank will be offered based on the applicant's record of excellence in research and teaching. The Department seeks expertise in the theory and practice of Statistics with a significant data-driven component in research and teaching activities. Ample opportunities exist for collaboration and cooperative teaching with faculty in computer science, biological sciences, social sciences, physical sciences and engineering, as well as for participation in Yale's programs in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics and in Applied Mathematics. Applications are encouraged from women and under-represented minority scholars. The Department encourages excellence in teaching, and faculty members teach a broad range of courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Each applicant should send a letter of application, curriculum vita, and a statement of research and teaching interests. Applicants for positions on term (Assistant or Associate Professor) should also arrange for three letters of reference to be sent directly to the address below, or emailed to joann.delvecchio@yale.edu. Evaluation of applicants will begin December 15, 2005, but the position will remain open until filled.
