Harvard Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology

The community of faculty, post-docs, graduate students, undergraduates, and staff make Harvard a terrific place to learn, teach, and perform research in the chemical sciences. We have active research programs in organic, physical, inorganic, theoretical chemistry, and in chemical biology and chemical physics, with particularly exciting work being done at the interfaces between research areas. This site will introduce you to our faculty and staff, our facilities, courses, and our programs, with glimpses of some of our most exciting new developments, including interdepartmental resources such as the Institute of Chemistry and Cell Biology-Initiative for Chemical Genetics (ICCB-ICG), the Bauer Center for Genomics Research (CGR) and the Center for Nanoscale Systems (CNS).
