Global Change Instruction Program
|
This series has been designed by college professors to fill an urgent need for interdisciplinary materials on global change. The materials are aimed at undergraduate students who are not majoring in science. The modular materials can be integrated into a number of existing courses in, for example, the earth sciences, biology, physics, astronomy, chemistry, meteorology, and the social sciences. The materials have been written to capture the interest of the student who has little grounding in math and the technical aspects of science but whose intellectual curiosity is piqued by a concern for the environment. Topics include: Biogeochemical Cycles; Biological Consequences; Carbon Cycle; Climate Change Effects; Clouds & Climate Change; El Nino & Peruvian Fisheries; Historical Climatic Variation; Human Energy Use; International Environmental Law; Population Growth; Stratospheric Ozone Depletion; and the Sun-Earth System. |
