This material, intended for use by teachers to structuring classroom activities, is divided into two sections that reflect the different emphases and requirements of elementary and middle school programs, and high schools. The elementary and middle school section is developed from the award winning Operation Pathfinder, Best of the Best, and is an electronic version of the Resource Guide for Oceanography and Coastal Processes. The high school section is being developed to reflect the structure of the COAST Visualization Web Site. In order to better integrate with high school curricula, this material is structured to reflect the emphasis at that level on math and science. The web site is therefore organized into two realms: physical and chemical parameters and processes, and biota and biotic processes. These are further broken down into various subjects.

It is part of The Annenberg Foundation and advances the Foundation's goal of encouraging the development of more effective ways to share ideas and knowledge. Annenberg/CPB's multimedia resources help teachers increase their expertise in their fields and assist them in improving their teaching methods. Many programs are also intended for students in the classroom and viewers at home. All Annenberg/CPB videos exemplify excellent teaching.

Submitted Dec 03, 2004 to Science Materials for Educators This series has been designed by college professors to fill an urgent need for interdisciplinary materials on global change. The materials are aimed at undergraduate students who are not majoring in science. The modular materials can be integrated into a number of existing courses in, for example, the earth sciences, biology, physics, astronomy, chemistry, meteorology, and the social sciences. The materials have been written to capture the interest of the student who has little grounding in math and the technical aspects of science but whose intellectual curiosity is piqued by a concern for the environment. Topics include: Biogeochemical Cycles; Biological Consequences; Carbon Cycle; Climate Change Effects; Clouds & Climate Change; El Nino & Peruvian Fisheries; Historical Climatic Variation; Human Energy Use; International Environmental Law; Population Growth; Stratospheric Ozone Depletion; and the Sun-Earth System.

The MarcoPolo partnership provides free, Internet-based content across academic disciplines. Science NetLinks' role is to provide a wealth of resources for K-12 science educators, including lesson plans and reviewed Internet resources. SNL is a dynamic site with new content being added on a regular basis, so check back often. The site includes: lessons - Internet-based learning activities for your classroom; tools - Engaging interactive activities and suggestions for using them in your classroom; resources - Reviewed websites to support standards-based teaching and learning; and benchmarks - K-12 science literacy learning goals outlined by AAAS's Project 2061. Science NetLinks is part of the MarcoPolo Education Foundation. MarcoPolo partners the AAAS, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Council of the Great City Schools, the National Council on Economic Education, the National Geographic Society, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The website contains teaching modules that were created by teachers in collaboration with more than 60 NCAR scientists. The modules include background information, hands-on activities using simple materials, and authentic assessment tools. The modules are Ozone in Out Atmosphere, Atmospheric Dynamics, and Cycles of the Earth and Atmosphere.

We are a nationally-recognized clearinghouse for information and advice to keep evolution in the science classroom and "scientific creationism" out. NCSE is the only national organization to specialize in this issue. We provide:Reviews of current anti-evolution activity in the United States and around the world; Background to the fundamentally creationist and anti-evolution movement known as "Intelligent Design"; Detailed information on the Creation/Evolution controversy from 1859 to the present; Resources for parents, teachers, school boards, and the general public. Contact NCSE if you need advice, information, or help in defending the teaching of evolution. We also work to increase public understanding of evolution and of the nature of scientific knowledge.

Closely aligned with the NRC National Science Education Standards, these web based lessons make maximum use of exciting on-line NASA resources, data, and images. In addition to classroom-ready materials using contemporary teaching strategies, CERES has developed several on-line NASA data search engines and two graduate level distance learning courses, available over the internet to K-12 teachers.
