AmphibiaWeb, a site inspired by global amphibian declines, is an online system that allows free access to information on amphibian biology and conservation. This site was inspired by the global declines of amphibians, the study of which has been hindered by the lack of multidisplinary studies and a lack of coordination in monitoring, in field studies, and in lab studies. We hope AmphibiaWeb will encourage a shared vision for the study of global amphibian declines and the conservation of remaining amphibians. AmphibiaWeb currently (Jun 30, 2006) contains 6035 species, for which we have approximately 1265 species accounts, 1173 distribution maps, 3453 literature references, 141 sound files, and 7599 photos of 1731 different amphibian species. AmphibiaWeb has been created in conjunction with the Digital Library Project at the University of California, Berkeley, which hosts this Web site and developed the technology used for viewing species information and photos.

The AOML Environmental Data Server (ENVIDS) provides interactive, on-line access to various oceanographic and atmospheric datasets residing at AOML. The in-house datasets include Atlantic Expendable Bathythermograph (XBT), Global Lagrangian Drifting Buoy, Hurricane Flight Level, and Atlantic Hurricane Tracks (North Atlantic Best Track and Synoptic). Other available datasets include Pacific Conductivitiy/Temperature/Depth Recorder (CTD) and World Ocean Atlas 1998.

The purpose of this archive is to provide access to sidescan and bathymetry data collected by the SCAMP system aboard a US Navy submarine during the SCICEX '98 and '99 surveys of the Arctic Ocean. An overview of SCICEX was published and can be viewed in the SCICEX 2003 pdf file. New: 2001 Gakkel Ridge Findings, 2001 Chukchi and Lomonosov Ridge Findings

The BioCyc Open Chemical Database (BOCD) is a collection of chemical compound data from the BioCyc databases. The BioCyc databases have been assembling a unique collection of high-quality chemical data for compounds involved in metabolic pathways. Our goal is to make these data available in an open manner to facilitate reuse by other groups and to minimize duplication of effort.

BMRB's mission is to collect, archive, and disseminate (worldwide in the public domain) the important quantitative data derived from NMR spectroscopic investigations of biological macromolecules. Relevant data are deposited by the scientists who generate them, and in consultation with these scientists, BMRB resolves any problems with the self-consistency and completeness of the deposition. In collaboration with the Protein Data Bank, BMRB provides links between the spectral data and associated atomic coordinates. BMRB works with the user community to develop formats for these data that can be parsed by computers and used for knowledge generation, alone and in conjunction with information from other databases. BMRB's goal is to empower scientists in their analysis of the structure, dynamics, and chemistry of biological systems and to support further development of the field of biomolecular NMR spectroscopy.

The Biology WorkBench is a web-based tool for biologists. The WorkBench allows biologists to search many popular protein and nucleic acid sequence databases. Database searching is integrated with access to a wide variety of analysis and modeling tools, all within a point and click interface that eliminates file format compatibility problems.

At BODC, we hold a wealth of publicly accessible marine data collected using a variety of instruments and samplers and collated from many sources. We handle biological, chemical, physical and geophysical data and our databanks contain measurements of nearly 10,000 different oceanographic variables. We encourage the use of our data holdings for science, education and industry, as well as the wider public.

The Carcinogenic Potency Database (CPDB) is a unique and widely used international resource of results from 6153 chronic, long-term animal cancer tests on 1485 chemicals. CPDB provides a standardized and easily accessible database with qualitative and quantitative analyses of both positive and negative experiments that have been published in the general literature through 1997 and by the National Cancer Institute/National Toxicology Program through 1998. This Web site is designed to facilitate use of the CPDB by presenting the information in summary tables as well as in the detailed plots that have been published.

The CEOS International Directory Network is a gateway to a world of earth science data maintained by NASA's Global Change Master Directory. The CEOS International Directory Network (CEOS IDN) is an international effort developed to assist researchers in locating information on available datasets. The CEOS IDN is sponsored by the Technology and Services Subgroup of the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) as a service to both the Earth and space science communities. View current datasets using the IDN Portal.

ChemBank is a public, web-based informatics environment created by the Broad Institute's Chemical Biology Program and funded in large part by the National Cancer Institute's Initiative for Chemical Genetics (ICG). This knowledge environment includes freely available data derived from small molecules and small-molecule screens, and resources for studying the data so that biological and medical insights can be gained. ChemBank is intended to guide chemists synthesizing novel compounds or libraries, to assist biologists searching for small molecules that perturb specific biological pathways, and to catalyze the process by which drug hunters discover new and effective medicines.
