John Rogers started doing stand-up in 1988, got his Physics degree in 1990, began writing television in 1995, writing movies in 1999, and writing comics in 2005. He plainly needs to focus.

LabLit.com is dedicated to real laboratory culture and to the portrayal and perceptions of that culture science, scientists and labs in fiction, the media and across popular culture. The site is intended for non-scientists as well as scientists, and the goal is to inform, entertain and surprise. LabLit.com was conceived partially as a response to the misleading or stereotypical images of science and scientists that abound, and partially in recognition that modern science is a unique and intriguing world worthy of wider exposure. And its denizens are often burning with untapped creative potential, which emerges in a number of remarkable ways in labs around the globe.

Lew Rockwell, founder and president of the Mises Institute in Auburn, Ala., and vice president of the Center for Libertarian Studies in Burlingame, Cal., is an opponent of the central state, its wars and its socialism. LewRockwell.com highlights the news and commentary that he finds important, or simply interesting. It is therefore unapologetically idiosyncratic.

Blogging is my attempt to make sense of this crazy world. I am a postdoctoral fellow and was recently hired as an Adjunct Associate Professor. I have lived in New York City since September 2002, and worked in my "dream job" for two years, reconstructing an evolutionary phylogeny of parrots from the south Pacific Ocean.

I'm a technician. I maintain and operate laboratory equipment used in the scientific analysis of crystalline materials. Mostly these materials are rocks, but our lab has analyzed everything from dead people to bits of the Moon.

The Ludwig von Mises Institute is the research and educational center of classical liberalism, libertarian political theory, and the Austrian School of economics. The Mises Institute works to advance the Austrian School of economics and the Misesian tradition, and, in application, defends the market economy, private property, sound money, and peaceful international relations, while opposing government intervention as economically and socially destructive.
