Follow cutting-edge research, including expeditions, to discover how seafloor volcanoes and vents create environments for extraordinary lifeforms. This website has been put together by the Education & Outreach team of Ridge 2000, a long-term program of research into mid-ocean ridges and related tectonic systems. Ridge 2000 is supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant Number 0116823. Researchers affiliated to the Ridge 2000 program come from over 50 universities and research institutions around the USA and abroad.
