Description: The NASA Research and Education Network (NREN) project focuses on the development and early deployment of high-performance networking technologies to provide exciting new capabilities for NASA science and engineering. As NASA Enterprises integrate these emerging networking technologies into their activities, NASA will be able to revolutionize mission applications involving space exploration, the design of air and space vehicles, Earth system modeling, and access to information contained in vast databases. Organizationally NREN is the research networking component of the Computing, Networking and Information Systems (CNIS) Project within the Computing, Information and Communications Technologies (CICT) Program.
