Description: The CSA/NBII Biocomplexity Thesaurus was developed in 2002-2003 through a partnership between the NBII and CSA, a leading bibliographic database provider. The Biocomplexity Thesaurus is a merger of five thesauri: the CSA Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Thesaurus; the CSA Life Sciences Thesaurus; the CSA Pollution Thesaurus; the CSA Sociological Thesaurus; the CERES/NBII Thesaurus. Merging and reconciliation of the terms in these thesauri was performed by Jessica Milstead, a leading expert in the development of scientific thesauri. The NBII Thesaurus Working Group oversees expansion of the thesaurus and addition or modification of terms.
