Link: National Weather Service Declares Walt Disney World StormReady [Preview]
If you happen to be in Florida when hurricane season hits, whom should you look to in a major storm emergency? Not FEMA, silly - Mickey Mouse! That's right, NOAA's National Weather Service has declared Walt Disney World as a safe place to be in the event of a major storm. To achieve this recognition, Disney World had to "establish a 24-hour warning point and emergency operations center; have more than one way to receive severe weather forecasts and warnings and to alert the public; create a system that monitors local weather conditions; promote the importance of public readiness through community seminars; and develop a formal hazardous weather plan, which includes training severe weather spotters and holding emergency exercises." So don't let a little hurricane derail your summer vacation plans. Typhoon Lagoon is the place to be!Posted:
